As a doula, I assist laboring women. I am educated in the labor process, and have been through it many times. I am prepared to help you in formulating and advocating your birth wish list. I am familiar with the emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual milestones and processes of labor and postpartum, and have tools and tricks of the trade on supporting you and helping you cope/stay relaxed. I’ve got 14 years experience (not including my own children’s (9) births)!
*At least 2 prenatal visits wherein we discuss what your birth wishes are and what role you wish for me to play. We also discuss the things that you are doing to prepare for birth, other than having a doula, and go over comfort measures, childbirth classes, etc.
*Being on call for your labor, and coming as needed (whether still at home, or in the birthing place of choice)
*Staying and supporting through the duration of the labor and long enough afterwards to see that breastfeeding has been established.
*At least 1 postpartum visit to check up on Mom and see how things are going. This is also an opportunity to share feelings about the birth and give/receive feedback about the service.
*A written birth story of the experience.
I serve families in Tremonton, Brigham City, Logan, and Ogden, Utah areas, as well as Southeast ID. Travel fee of $100 will be added on for locations which are more than 30 miles from my home. $50 flat fee applies for support after the first 15 hours of labor/birth/after-birth support.
